The Church

We believe the local church is Christ's hope for the world! The Lord Jesus Christ being her head, the "Great Commission" her mission, she should seek to reach into the world and be the salt and light of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no force with such divine sanction and power to do greater good than the local church. Praise God we are a part of this noble institution! (Acts 2:41-47, 11 :20-26)

The Bible shows us that Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and that pastors are His under­shepherds and deacons His servants. Scripture teaches pastoral leadership with a servant's heart not a dictator's whip and gives clear qualifications for pastors and deacons. Deacons are servants of the church not overseers of the pastor and congregation. Pastors can not do the job alone, therefore we endorse a team ministry approach where leaders are recruited and developed along with the elected officers to lead teams in the work of ministry. We believe in a congregational form of government as shown in the Scriptures where the church would ratify the direction, leadership of the church and be the Holy Spirit's tool through voice and vote in decisions of the church. (1 Peter 5:1-4, 1 Timothy 3:1-15, Acts 6:1-7,11:1-18, 13:1-3).The Bible teaches that members should know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and identify with Him in Scriptural baptism by immersion as evidence of a changed life and in obedience to Christ's commands.(Acts 2:41-47)

Being a part of the church family then is a privilege and responsibility for the believer, to fulfill Christ call to growth and service and to be the Holy Spirit's voice in decisions. What a privilege to be a part of the Church the Lord's hope for the world!
